(Outline of PONDALIZE 2022)
In Namegawa Town, Hiki-gun, Saitama Prefecture,JAPAN there is a pond farming method as a culture unique to the region, and activities to promote applications for agricultural heritage are also being carried out in the region. Regarding this, we will raise the momentum of this activity, and at the same time, people in the area will pay attention to the pond because it is a familiar existence, and so that they can enjoy it more from the cultural aspect as well throughout field reserching, casual artist gatherings and exhibitions of art works.
This is the first art festival in which we interviewed the residents of Namegawa Town, Hiki District, Saitama Prefecture, and the manager of the pond, using the theme of a swamp that has never been turned into an art festival. In order to ensure the accuracy of the climate co-creation field, we ask for the supervision of the Yatsuda Innovation Research Institute.

The problem of managing the swamp used in the pond farming method is that most Saitama residents do not even know its existence, but the pond is an important farming method that supports our food, not just as a landscape or cultural property, but as a swamp. We think it is meaningful to send this message from the townspeople of Saitama, who continue to the present day. This art festival conveys the importance of pond farming to the audience by depicting the lives and lives of swamps and people around the swamps. The subsidy will be used for study sessions where self-procurement alone is insufficient, and will also be used for exhibitions of works and public relations information dissemination expenses. By impressing unrecognized subjects with the power of art, we aim to have the audience continue to think about this issue even after the festival and to have a sense of ownership.
